Taking its name from one of Italy‘s most famous actresses, Sophia Loren, this West Beach Italain restaurant is equally as elegant. Its understated interiors are inspired by the Amalfi Coast of the 1970s, with blue striped linens hanging softly from the ceiling, and woven mechanical fans swaying gently back and forth. Designed by South African architect Tristan Du Plessis, curved archways scattered throughout the restaurant are accented with monochromed marble, while floor-to-ceiling windows fully open out to a terrace overlooking the Marina’s famous skyline. At the centre of the room sits a grand marble bar, where sharly dress mixologists mix refreshing sprtizes, while the days’ catch is displayed proudly on ice in front of the open kitchen. Don’t miss a peek at the toilets – they are equally as gorgeous.
